Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! is for gamers who want a quick and satisfying dungeon-crawling experience. The game is fast enough to pick up for ten minutes and complete a few missions, but also has some deep systems that can take hours of your time and push the game to its highest potential. While the repetitive dungeons might be a problem for some, I felt that the range of different activities that the game offers completely makes up for the redundant trips to the story dungeons. The classic dungeon series is back with Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! Rogue-likes has blown up in recent years, with the randomized trappings joining together with mechanics and settings that transcend any one genre. To date, not a single one has explored the historical Sengoku era, making the return of Classic Dungeon, or ClaDun for short, something unique for PlayStation owners. If the most recent Samurai Warriors has you craving another outing in the Warring States and want a little challenge to spice things up, ClaDun Returns: This is Sengoku! Might be just what you’re in the mood for.

Despite its minor issues, I had such a fun time playing Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! that it might actually convince me to give some other RPGs a try. Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! has awesome gameplay, great character creation, a catchy, old fashioned soundtrack and a thriving world full of surprises to find. If you’re looking for an RPG to fill the void until the next big title is released, be sure to check it out.

System Prisma's charming little classic dungeon series is back with a brand new third title after more than five years since the previous one. However, does the simplistic dungeon-based action RPG gameplay hold up in 2017?

The ClaDun series returns with a new and appropriately named entry, making the jump from the handheld to the home console. It brings back many of the systems featured in previous entries, and retains its retro-inspired look and feel. But does the six-year-old formula hold up?

There is more to this game, a lot more, but I just don’t care. Cladun Returns: This is Sengoku! can be played for hundreds of hours, but these are hours I want to spend with something I actually like. There are a lot of facets here, including quests I can take, a bizarre Fortify feature, an art studio where I can customize characters and gear, and time challenges for each of the dungeons that make up the story mode.
