Hibiscus & Butterfly tries to do more than it should as a second episode, but this is still a sweet, warm visual novel that's as restorative as one of its good cuppas. If you wanted more Coffee Talk, you're in for a treat.

Full of delicious-looking drinks to create, a fantastic LoFi soundtrack and a brilliantly realised cast of characters, this visual-novel-meets-barista-simulator is the ultimate escape.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly succeeds in what it primarily sets out to do. It gives the player a chance to peek into an intriguing world where people mingle with members of fantasy races and shows what their lives are like as they stop in at the coffee shop that is always open when they need it to be.

It never reaches the heights of its predecessor and maybe part of its appeal is reminding us of just how fresh and exciting the first entry was, but I kept playing it. The game tries a few new things, which should always be applauded, but holds back just enough to remain a convincing echo of the first installment.
