Death end re;Quest 2 follows the mold of its predecessor but is ultimately more enjoyable. There are times when the day portion of the game feels like it's going on for too long but the story is at least interesting enough where it's not too tedious. The battle sequences are simple but the enhanced knockback mechanics make them more enjoyable. It's not the deepest RPG out there, both in terms of depth of a character development and combat mechanics but the gameplay is enjoyable and the story finds a way to be grisly and dark while still having an overall lighthearted feel to the game. It does ...

Death End re;Quest 2 is the horror RPG I never knew I wanted. Its mysterious and grim story is reminiscent of some of the all-time great Japanese visual novel and indie adventure experiences, but the fact that it's tied up into an addictive and enjoyable RPG package is the icing on the cake. The fun begins to get soured a bit by the sudden difficulty spikes throughout the game, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this terrifying and jaw-dropping story from beginning to end.

While it doesn’t change much from its predecessor Death end re;Quest 2 tells a gripping tale that combines great horror themes with solid RPG mechanics that will surprise most players.

If you think all of Idea Factory International's RPGs are purely about cute girls doing cute things and beating up dogoos, you haven't been paying up attention to the Death end re;Quest series. The first one was familiar to longtime fans of IFI's style of combat system, only with those cute girls winding up getting murdered in gruesome fashion. Now, the upcoming Death end re;Quest 2 aims to continue the bloody trend with a sequel that starts off with cold-blooded murder the moment you hit the start button.

Looking at developer/publisher, Idea Factory Co.'s website it's easy to see that they are subject matter experts in all things related to anime. You can't help being impressed by their anime inspired game titles listed on their website. In fact, a few of these I've reviewed for other sites and others I've considered purchasing at some point in time. Their latest milestone is the port of the anime JRPG, Death end re:Quest 2 onto the Nintendo Switch console. This dark, mature audiences only meshin

Anime games are EVERYWHERE this month. It’s the perfect time to be a weeb, with the likes of Captain Tsubasa and Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? both getting new games. One that’s not based on an actual anime, though (and maybe should be), is Death End Re;Quest 2. If this is the first time you’re hearing of it, that’s right, there’s already one other game in the series to explore. I suppose the real question is though, is there a point to exploring it?

The sequel to 2019’s Death end re;Quest has released, throwing players into a small, spooky town situated within the mountains. Protagonist Mai Toyama looks to escape her traumatic past whilst searching for her lost sister in her last known whereabouts. The game is developed by prolific JRPG developer and publisher, Idea Factory, alongside their subsidiary Compile Heart. Although I struggle to view this as Idea Factory’s best work.
