My relationship with Crema Games’ creature collection game, Temtem, started eons ago in June of 2018 as I personally took part in their Kickstarter campaign. Back in the beginning of September of this year Temtem moved into full release with version 1.0. Nearly three weeks ago I retook my first steps in the game and published my Review In-Progress. Since then, Crema Games has released a 1.0.1 patch and I’ve delved deeper into the Archipelago islands. Join me now for my full review of Temtem!

Looking at developer/publisher, Idea Factory Co.'s website it's easy to see that they are subject matter experts in all things related to anime. You can't help being impressed by their anime inspired game titles listed on their website. In fact, a few of these I've reviewed for other sites and others I've considered purchasing at some point in time. Their latest milestone is the port of the anime JRPG, Death end re:Quest 2 onto the Nintendo Switch console. This dark, mature audiences only meshin

>observer_ is a wonderful futuristic Cyberpunk adventure game with plenty of detective work that adds the occasional scary thrill. The story is well written and the interrogation scenes are a wild, fun, vivid psychedelic ride.

Trudging through linear dungeon-like levels you’ll bust pots to collect “Clefines”, boxes to collect items, etc. Along the way you’ll encounter traps, e.g. timed ground spikes, environmental threats, and so on. Things like metronome levers and music energy altars open locked doors. Music energy altars are essentially boxes, i.e. the music energy source, that need to be picked up and dropped onto a marked “altar”, these music energy sources are timed and if not moved within said t...

Puzzles range from straight-forward to less intuitive but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of adventure game. Inventory is a row of open circle slots. As items are dropped into these slots you can try combining items in the inventory browse screen. The bottom line is, Dreamfall Chapters is a stunning PS4 game that is story rich and should be on any adventure gamer’s list, especially those that played through the first two PC games. You might do yourself a favor though and find a re...

The game has a lot of complexity but thankfully has a wonderful, mostly text-based, tutorial system which sprinkles in some actual in-game play. It’s a nice system to introduce you to, and walk you through, the rather complex game elements. The game is a unique turn-based tactical RPG that will initially require some trial and error as well an upfront time investment, including potentially starting over early, to learn the mechanics but it’s an exploration worth pursuing!
