F1 24 does not reinvent the wheel, but it does bring in some changes that keep the series feeling fresh and fun to play. The new Driver Career changes and Dynamic Handling system might not seem like massive upgrades at first, but their addition to the game makes it worth checking out.

If you’re a hardcore fan of the F1 series, you might appreciate the work that’s gone into refining the driving physics to a tee. The same goes for the Driver Career mode, which elevates MyTeam to a new level, even if it feels remarkably familiar all the same.

F1 24 is too familiar in many areas, but an overhauled Driver Career mode and emphasis on aggressive racing ensure that Codemasters' latest is still an engaging motorsports experience.

F1 24 puts players in the shoes of the greatest racers of the year as the official video game of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship™.  Featuring an all-new EA SPORTS Dynamic Handling System, the game promises a truly immersive experience where players will feel as one with their car.

It's nearly impossible to please players of every single skill level, but F1 24 gameplay is some of the best the series has been in recent years. An extensive amount of optional systems allows more casual players to simply focus on the track, and the dedicated veterans have even more small settings to tweak as they fine-tune high difficulty strategies. Driver Career is a blast, especially when playing as iconic drivers of the past and present. Sadly, the missing story mode and poorly executed quick play options make it difficult for F1 24 to fulfill its potential.

F1 24 is definitely an upgrade over the 2023 version, but not a big one. The single-player modes are getting the biggest overhauls, and if you're a fan of those, you'll love them. Everything else, though, looks fairly similar to what it looked like in F1 23, but with a new logo taped over it.

However, while F1 24 marks significant progress, it's not without its shortcomings. Persistent issues such as the lack of finesse in AI behavior and complexities in currency management detract slightly from the overall enjoyment. Moreover, support for enthusiast hardware remains inconsistent, and certain features like the absence of custom team entry in co-op career mode may disappoint some players. Despite these drawbacks, F1 24 remains a compelling choice for fans of the franchise, offering a thrilling and immersive racing experience worthy of consideration. F1 24 proves to be a worthwhile addition to the series, albeit with room for further refinement...

The removal of content hurts this year's official Formula One game. F1 24 went in a bold direction with its physics, but now the game borders on a casual racer due to the lack of difficulty for simulating a Formula One car. Racing will be more aggressive because these cars stay glued to the track with minimal punishment for pushing the car. The graphics and audio options are where the game stands out the best. The ongoing bugs will continue to hamper the experience, so here's to hoping these things are addressed. It's neat to take one of the Legendary...

During my time with F1 24, I found that there are a fair few things that were improved from last year's title, but with some game modes missing entirely, what else is there to do?

F1 24 could have been the ideal follow-up to last year had its handling not been radically revamped. However, as it stands, it's still a compelling racing sim with fun Career Modes and a strong presentation.

With no driver changes on the grid for the new Formula 1 season, F1 24 has a tough task proving it's a considerable upgrade from 2023's entry and worth its $69.99 price tag—and it hasn't overcome the challenge.

Another odd in-betweener year for the racing series.

F1 24 delivers a long-awaited overhaul of Career Mode and new physics and handling mechanics to deliver the most immersive experience to date, but falls a little short of being a truly worthwhile reason to upgrade from last year’s game.
