Final Fantasy VII Remake: Episode Intermission Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Episode Intermission builds upon the already solid foundation of Final Fantasy VII Remake and delivers a new story chapter that is both a comedy and a tragedy at the same time. It adds to the mythos of Remake's world, gives us a new look at various side characters we only spent a few minutes with in the base game, and most importantly, sets the stage for the next crucial party member we'll meet in the second instalment.
Ultimately, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a better version of Final Fantasy VII Remake. While some of the improvements may not seem noticeable, the ones that are, are great. Saves from the PS4 can be saved and imported into this new version using in-game options, so you can carry over your progress and trophies if you decide to jump back into the game.
FFVII Remake Intergrade Episode INTERmission (talk about a mouthful) isn't a "must-play." The story can feel derivate until some out-of-the-blue revelations occur as you're reaching the end, and the new gameplay implementations are barely explored due to the relatively short length of the DLC. Now titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: Episode Intermission, this new version comes with all the goodies prior along with a DLC that allows players to pla...
As part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade package or at a small cost on top of the free base game upgrade, the Yuffie-centric EPISODE INTERmission is a nice chunk of compelling new content to keep fans going in the absence of the next big title. It's not a radical departure, and it would've been nice to get a proper glimpse of some new locales, but what's here is still largely entertaining. Impressively, it manages to squeeze a nicely-paced and climactic experience out of its abridged RPG format. Plus, Yuffie is just too entertaining and likeable to not deserve a bit of the spotlight.
