I'm going to reiterate what I said at the beginning. If you like Green Day and Rock Band, go get this. If you're getting bored of playing fake instruments or you're just not a fan of the group, then don't expect to be won over. It's not as polished or as lovingly handcrafted at the Beatles: Rock Band, but a lot of the songs are way more fun to play. Now, if only there were more of them.
There’s not much to say really - it’s Rock Band, but with Green Day songs. If you like Green Day and you like Rock Band, you’re going to like Green Day: Rock Band. Go figure.
Green Day: Rock Band is a well-presented game, but unless you're a Rock Band junkie or a die-hard fan of the band there isn't much of a reason to pick it up. Still, it's tough to deny the game's merits even if you don't care for the subject matter.
The game is an extension and expression of Green Day’s most-defining albums and key moments throughout their career to date. It will feature likenesses of Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, as well as select venues and art specific to the band's history.
In all honesty, your purchasing intent should depend on one factor only: how much do you like Green Day?
Make no mistake, the multicoloured bricks are the undisputed stars of the Rock Band series. This latest venture might have stroppy trio, Green Day, prancing around in the background and making a lot of noise, but they’re just there to support the main act: the scrolling bricks.
