The campaign is excellent, backed by solid storytelling and a powerful audio-visual experience. The competitive multiplayer is familiar, yet brand new with a lot more options and a faster pacing. With Halo: Reach, Bungie has exited its most precious series with one almighty, planet-shattering bang.

It’s been a wild five years for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. I won’t dwell on the abysmal launch it faced in 2014, but it’s worth recognizing the heart and perseverance that paved the road to its success today. The revolution the collection has undergone on console and its debut on PC is a testament to 343’s passion for the franchise and care for the fans.

Chances are you’ve already made your mind up about whether or not you’re going to pick up Halo: Reach on launch, but if you’re one of the seven people who is still sat on the fence, then consider this a friendly little nudge in the right direction. Yes, this is Bungie’s last Halo game. Yes, this is the Seattle based developer going out on a high. Yes, this is the best Halo game they’ve ever create...

Whilst the game isn’t perfect, it is one of the better ones Bungie has put out on the market. The campaign is short lived and repetitive, yet it is still crazy fun and well thought out. The multiplayer is spectacular with endless unlocks, gametypes, and ways of play in general. With those in mind and the four player co-op as well as firefight, Halo: Reach is easily worth the price.
