While his recent movie exploits have left a lot to be desired for fans of the franchise we're so happy to say that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle doesn't just meet the expectations of a classic Indiana Jones story, but absolutely blows them out of the water.

We had a smile on our face from beginning to end while playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. As close as games can come to a genuine old-fashioned Hollywood blockbuster, it's also an incredibly rich adventure game stuffed to the gills with secrets to find.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a fantastic adventure game, one of the best I've played, but you might want to play on a desktop and not a Steam Deck to fully enjoy it.

There are some issues with the pacing of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and the combat isn't great, but neither of these prevent it from being an exhilarating adventure on the whole. Perfectly capturing the essence of the films, this is an absolute treat for Indiana Jones fans.

Closing out a season of fantastic launches, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle finally delivers on the promise of Xbox Games Pass, delivering a high-quality and entertaining single-player adventure that fans of the series will absolutely adore. While it's not the most technically innovative game and it could use an upgrade in the combat department, it's still one of the most entertaining games of the year, and a much more faithful continuation of the Indiana Jones franchise than the most recent films in the series.

A thoughtfully adapted first-person adventure that sees Indy sticking his nose in every corner of its huge open levels, and getting into fist fights at the drop of a hat.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is fun if you’re not expecting a Hollywood movie adventure. The theatrics are there, but they’re not the main highlight. Instead, the game focuses more on exploring who Indiana Jones is, his background as an archaeologist, and his moral compass guiding him to assist others. The few stumbles that do happen don’t diminish the larger story, and I only wish it were longer to keep exploring more locations with Indy as a guide.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle does what this franchise has always done best. It takes the theft of a seemingly unimportant artifact and thrusts Indy into cataclysmic mystery and makes sure that charismatic man shines. Punch Nazis, celebrate history, explore the world and then save it. What more could you ask for?
