Inmost is a pixel art style platformer that came along after the big craze of similar styled games in the indie game scene. Will the beautiful visuals and incredibly immersive soundtrack be enough to stand out among the rest like it?

Ever since Limbo came out ten years ago, the indie scene started to be flooded with a very specific subgenre I like to call the “depressive art platformer”. It’s a type of game that uses the basis of puzzle platformers in order to tell a usually depressing and tense story involving weak and frail characters thrown into a sad, gray, and ultra hostile world. Inmost delivers a variety of gameplay styles, delivering three thoughtfully discordant narratives that tie together with a gut punch at the end. Beautifully constructed pixel-art graphics set a surprisingly somber tone, and the music is top notch at setting the horrific yet contemplative mood. Recommended.

Ambitious as it is beautiful, INMOST is another example of why you shouldn't cancel that Apple Arcade subscription just yet. It's amazing presentation and fun gameplay makes INMOST a must play title.

I’m trying to be a bit vague here when it comes to Inmost‘s narrative details to avoid spoilers, but don’t cancel that Apple Arcade subscription just yet. It’s worth a playthrough as you wait for the next thing to come along, but you’d be hard pressed to exhaust all of the great games on the Arcade even if you tried.
