While the lack of board variations and crossovers sting, MONOPOLY’s Living Board and perfection of the fundamentals both make this digital release worthy of Mr. Monopoly himself.
In the end, Monopoly on the Wii is a good, but not great, interpretation of the Parker Brothers classic. Pick it up and give it a spin if you've got a set of friends who normally enjoy coming together around other multiplayer standards like Mario Party -- but if you don't enjoy those games, or the traditional board game version of Monopoly, or if you just don't have any friends to play with, send the potential of this game being added to your library directly to jail. Do not let it pass Go. Do not spend $40.
Monopoly for Nintendo Switch works for being a Monopoly game, but is ultimately a gimped port of a several year old game with features such as My Monopoly missing and questionable design choices such as not being able to mix and match house rules. If you’re looking for Monopoly on the go, it may be better to wait for a price drop.
