Not for Broadcast Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Rarely do you find games these days that could be described as a combination of "ambitious," "thought-provoking," "hard-hitting," "hilarious" and "extremely fun," but somehow Not For Broadcast delivers on that front. It's truly a unique gem with terrifically-varied gameplay, a perfectly-absurd sense of humor with impressive writing and performances, and a story guaranteed to throw you for a loop. Not For Broadcast is a bizarre masterpiece and one not afraid to gleefully mock everything it sees in the most over-the-top yet devastating ways possible, and for that, it deserves top honors. So that...
Not for Broadcast VR is an often hilarious and surprisingly well-acted game, made better by its excellent use of VR and the sheer creativity on screen during every news segment. I found myself drawn into the story and gameplay from the very first moment, and it held my attention throughout its ten-hour duration. I highly recommend those looking for a unique VR experience to check out Not for Broadcast VR.
The silliest thing on TV.
Who knew that overseeing a bunch of media personalities who say so little by saying so much could be so fun?
Not For Broadcast’s multi-windowed interface is a little reminiscent of Night Trap, but it’s a world away from the bad FMV games of old. The icing on the cake is the way you can pore over each broadcast, listening to all the sneaky little asides you missed because you were too busy putting together an audience-acceptable show.
Not for Broadcast is a work of art that proves just how good FMV games can get when they’re done right. It’s about ten hours long, but with multiple endings, you can get way more time out of it through multiple playthroughs. I recommend Not for Broadcast: VR, even if you’ve played the original flatscreen version. It’s just that good.
I’ve never been one for FMV games. I am well aware there are some good ones out there, but the concept of them never really grabbed me. With that being said, Not For Broadcast is a game that I’ve had my eyes on for quite a while, hearing a lot of positive buzz surrounding it, but never got around to playing. At least up until now, as the recent port over to VR platforms throws you right in the middle of a broadcast room.
