Patapon 1+2 Replay is a real blast from the past and more than proves why this series was such a hit for Sony. It’s simple to play, but if you dig deeper you’ll find that there’s a real meaty game here. The rhythm-based controls make it unlike any strategy game you’ve ever played before. There are some small frustrations, but generally it succeeds in what it tries to do.

Not much has been added to Patapon 1+2 Replay, but these two rhythm game oddities are as fun to play as they were eighteen years ago.

While I would have liked to see a bit more done to update these games for modern platforms beyond just a bump to resolution, Patapon 1+2 are still landmark titles that deserve a look from anyone who has an appreciation for PlayStation's back catalogue. This is the definitive way to experience two core PSP games.

Patapon 1 and 2 Replay remasters and presents the first two games in a satisfying package. For fans of the original games, there aren’t many surprises, but newcomers will find a cute and fun, albeit repetitive, experience.

Patapon 1+2: Replay brings one of Sony's most unique franchises to the masses, and you have no reason to skip it. Although the absence of Patapon 3 doesn't make this feel like a complete release, and it remains to be seen whether it'll be added later, the first two games are still filled with fun and charming moments that more people need to experience.

PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY is a stellar remastered bundle that exceeded my expectations. While it’s not the type of game I’d typically gravitate toward, I now fully appreciate its unique appeal. It’s one of those games everyone should try just to experience its truly one-of-a-kind gameplay. I’m sure it’ll stick with me long after finishing, and I’ll probably be humming “pata, pata, pata, pon” forever.

While the story is light and the timing can be strict, this re-release manages to capture the charm of the originals while updating the games to stand alongside other modern titles, making Patapon 1+2 Replay a must-own for fans of the series.

While Patapon 1+2 Replay is a pretty straightforward rerelease of its PSP counterparts, it remains an incredibly unique and deeply engaging set of games.

Patapon 1+2 Replay is, well, a collection of Patapon 1 & 2 in one convenient package. The seminal RTS rhythm games from the PSP were brought back for a variety of systems. This is technically the second time these games have been remastered. Patapon 1 & 2 were released on PS4 a few years ago, but not without issue. Both releases suffered from input delay, making the two almost unplayable at times.

Patapon 1+2 Replay brings back the classic series from Sony, now licensed to Bandai Namco so that it can be published on systems beyond the PlayStation family. The new pack includes the original game and its sequel with various quality-of-life additions for a new generation.
