Puzzle Bobble Everybubble!

As a huge fan of the series, I'm excited that Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! is finally here so let's see what Bub and Bob are up to now.

The gameplay of Puzzle Bobble never gets old, and in Everybubble it’s no different. Popping bubbles is just as much fun as it was in the 1990s: almost 30 years later, and it’s as enjoyable as ever. Puzzle Bobble Everybubble offers up a well-rounded package with plenty of modes to jump into, with Baron’s Tower and the joyous Space Invaders twist giving players reason to keep jumping back in long after the story mode has been completed. What’s not to like, really?

Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! feels like a fitting, worthy new entry in the long-running series. There’s a rich mixture of single and multiplayer/online modes on offer here, and though the AI bots can leave something to be desired, this is overall a well-rounded and appealing package that’s sure to appeal to any action puzzle fans. We’d give this one a recommendation to anyone looking for an addictive puzzler that doesn’t require too much mental investment to ‘get’ and that keeps you on your toes. In 2023, it's nice to know that an old formula still works. Taito overloaded the cute-ness on this title. The online mode is a nice touch, and definitely extra points for the Space Invaders crossover. Plus, who can turn down online Puzzle Bobble? Puzzle Bobble fans, this one's for you. PAYOMPA!

Still, minor gripes aside, this is a rather solid Puzzle Bobble entry. The co-op story mode is a great time if you have friends. Considering the series has long leaned on its competitive aspect when it comes to multiplayer, this makes Puzzle Bobble Everybubble a great purchase for anyone who doesn’t use video games to assert dominance over their friends. Largely, Puzzle Bobble Everybubble is just more Puzzle Bobble, but it’s an extremely solid entry in the series with an addition that will make it almost indispensable to some fans of bubble popping.

Back in the 90s, a new Puzzle Bobble (or Bust-a-Move) game would be released every single year, with very little in terms of additions or improvements. There was just not a lot you could do with its formula in order to shake things up, with this rule being kept in place up until the release of Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey in 2021.
