Revita Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Over the past few years, we have seen the roguelite genre flourish. Games like The Binding of Isaac and Dead Cells spurred developers to delve into the realm which has resulted in a slew of titles that aim to give that ‘one more go’ factor. With the danger of being lost in the crowd, Revita looks to leap above the competition with its implementation of a unique mechanic but is it enough to separate itself?
Revita is an excellent addition to the rogue-like genre’s ever-expanding library of games and one that fans should have on their radar. It doesn’t challenge current genre conventions much, but what it does do, it does well. Revita introduces an interesting health-management system that constantly makes players think about the consequences of their actions and features satisfying combat, responsive platforming, and a wonderful soundtrack. Which brings us to Revita, an action packed roguelite that is similar to that of Exit the Gungeon, in terms ...
Revita is a roguelite with some pacing flaws and a big grind but it just has so much heart that its hard to ignore
Revita is a two-stick roguelike shooter with a great retro style but modern feel. The skill curve in balancing your health and power may be a bit much for those not already familiar with the play style.
Revita may turn off or encourage players with its main gameplay mechanic, which is an interesting take on the genre. However, some of the game's poor pacing and progression might shut out your heart from this beautiful-looking game.
