Rez Plz

With dark humour and comic violence, this is a game that will appeal to fans of puzzle platformers and schadenfreude alike. A great indie title that’s a worthy addition to anybody’s Steam library. Fantastic both in solo and co-op mode.

The core of the game is excellent, the gameplay is fun, progression balanced, it has personality, and presents as much difficulty as you are willing to chase flawless runs through the levels. However, there are small quality of life challenges that hold the game back when receiving its due.

I was actually just speaking with my wife (fellow reviewer and editor, Heidi Hawes) about the lack of fun couch co-op games lately. We were talking about how we end up replaying games like Gears of War, Halo, or a couple party games on the Switch due to the sheer lack of other options. Out of nowhere, we were approached with an offer to review REZ PLZ, and after watching the trailer we both gave an emphatic yes.

REZ PLZ is a platformer with a fascinating resurrection mechanic built in. The limited lives, precise jumps, and puzzles may frustrate you, but it's not enough to ruin the game too much. The goofy way the premise is presented will make you smile, but just know that you'll be the cause of plenty of death if you want to move forward.
