Professional reviews from gaming critics

Much like its predecessor, the game comes in two parts. The first part is a tower defense game. The second part involves you carefully meandering your own boulder through all the traps the enemy has set down in part one, before hurtling yourself at the enemy gates.

Rock of Ages remains fun despite its problems, and makes for some great local competitive play. The campaign gets annoying at times because of the time constraints with defense building, but is quirky and funny enough that it ultimately remains worth the time. If you’re looking for something unlike what you’ve played before, it’s time to let Rock of Ages rock your world.

Surely, you will not regret it.

It is not as exciting as it once was, but you could certainly do worse. 6/1...

Rock of Ages is one of those games that is difficult to encapsulate in a written form. With its genre-fusing game play and cheeky yet surreal take on ancient history it really is one of a kind. While content might be a little thin outside of the main mode and story campaign, the game is still more than worth the 800 Microsoft Point asking price.
