In the end, Combat Evolved Anniversary is a strange package. Its campaign feels half hearted, neither fully remaking nor preserving the original game. The Reach multiplayer maps, while excellent, feel tacked on to the package to attempt to justify this being a full disc-based release. Assault Horizon is likely to be divisive among series fans. But whatever your opinion on its new direction it’s unreasonable to call it a bad game. In fact it’s still quite the opposite. What it loses in realism it makes up for with variety and a strong presentation.

The bottom line here is that you should play L.A. Noire. It’s engaging, thoughtful, mature and currently one of a kind. Unless you’re the type who only looks for quick, dumb action from their video games I’d recommend this to just about anyone. A serious contender for game of the year.
