SCHiM is the perfect recreation of one of our childhood games. With fun and challenging gameplay, unique and minimalistic art style, and a relatable and touching story that empowers every other aspect of the game, it's a platformer that stands out among its peers.

SCHiM is an adorable and delightfully unique game, and one that feels both gloriously clever and easy to pick up in equal measure.

SCHiM is worth jumping at. It’s approachable for most players and unearths a deeper story about life’s unexpected lows and highs.

SCHiM takes the idea of ‘what lurks in the shadows’ and builds a fascinating puzzle, platforming adventure. With its unique art style and distinct premise, the game offers a fresh take on the genre which evolves around light and darkness. But does SCHiM manage to sustain its intrigue and deliver a satisfying experience throughout?

As someone who doesn't live in North America or Japan, I don't often get the opportunity to play games from my country. Today is an extra special day when I even get to review one - here's SCHiM, the creation of Dutch duo Ewoud van der Werf and Nils Slijkerman.

Schim is a short but impactful must-play, without a shadow of a doubt.

Schim is certainly cute, charming, and has a surprisingly emotional look into the themes of depression and midlife crisis. Perhaps it could dig deeper into its arguments, and maybe even dare a bit more with its gamepaly. Similarly, with a length of only about 3 hours and limited replayability, the launch price of 24.99USD/24,99EUR feels a little excessive, and I would absolutely recommend waiting ...

SCHiM is an intriguing 3D Platformer that could have benefitted from better execution, but at least it is perfectly playable on the Steam Deck!

SCHiM looks absolutely fantastic, and its idea is innovative: you're a shadow who has become untethered from its human. But the goal of reuniting the pair is unfortunately more frustrating than it should be: while there are some enjoyable elements here, ultimately we were relieved when it was over.

A carefree shadow-hopping puzzler whose colour and charm, combined with frogs, makes for a ribbiting time.
