Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up based on the Scott Pilgrim series. Play as the cast, who must battle through seven levels in order to defeat Ramona's seven evil exes. Characters have their own individual movesets, which can be expanded upon by gaining enough experience, and are also able to use weapons.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition is still an incredibly polished and fun beat ‘em up that has truly stood the test of time. While it’s slightly annoying that playing with the other characters requires you to replay entire levels and that the online features and a full playable fighter are currently locked behind Ubisoft’s ridiculous server sign-in, in the end this is still a great title deserving of its re-release. Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is really enjoyable, even if at times it can be really frustrating. The music is incredible and it has an amazing style unlike anything else out there. If only it had online co-op. But it doesn't. And so, while really cool, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is far from perfect.
Boy falls in love with girl. So far, so cliche? Not quite — see, there's a twist to Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers' burgeoning relationship; Scott must defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to go on a date with her. Thus ensues the perfect set-up for a seven-stage beat 'em up game moulded around classics such as Final Fight, Rival Turf and River City Ransom.
Though the game has a fraught history, it was a true indie darling. And now it’s back, having aged surprisingly well, actually.
