Senran Kagura Reflexions Reviews

Professional reviews from gaming critics

Senran Kagura Reflexions is one of those games where you have to play it alone not just because it’s a single player game, but because you can’t have anyone judging you in the same room. Not that it matters if anyone knew you have the game but at least you don’t get to see their judging looks. Once you’re in a safe place, you’ll get to enjoy the game fully and have some fun. 😉

I didn't really enjoy Senran Kagura Reflexions at all and I don't think I'll ever be going back to it. Somebody awaken me from my long Asuka-induced hangover when a normal Senran Kagura game comes out on Switch, it sure as hell deserves one on the handheld-hybrid. Also, nobody tell my girlfriend that I reviewed this. Thanks.

Senran Kagura Reflexions may be great for superfans of Asuka or one of the four DLC girls, but non-fans or fans of other series girls may want to steer clear.

Sep 13, 2018 Read Review

Senran Kagura Reflexions is an Ecchi dating sim game that in reality is a touching and squeezing simulator. The gameplay feels pervy at times, and gets repetitive and boring fairly quickly. There are no visual issues, and motion controls make things more interesting, but it unfortunately isn't enough to make it entertaining.

So Senran Kagura Reflexions is a thing, and it’s out now on Nintendo Switch. If you’re a fan of the series, this entry won’t be of any great surprise - after all, we’ve had a water gun third-person shooter and a rhythmic cookery game under the Senran Kagura banner - but if you’re new to the series this title might look like the kind of thing you'd not normally find on Switch. As innocent and silly as it all pertains to be, it’s just a tame excuse to get a bit of cheap sleaze onto a Western games console.

You might visit for the lewdness but you won't be staying for long. Senran Kagura Reflexions falls short on its promises and ends up being a dull title that fairs to offer anything memorable.

Sep 20, 2018 Read Review

Senran Kagura Reflexions is really nothing more than a proof of concept. Honey∞Parade Games set out to make a game where you touch Asuka all over until she’s been satisfied and in that respect, it succeeds. Just a damn shame the developer couldn’t turn all that touching into something worth playing.

While the Senran Kagura series has always been rife with fanservice and hyper-sexualization, these moments were at the tail-end of addictive action gameplay, funny character interactions, and classic anime cheesiness. These things are what make up the heart and soul of Senran Kagura, and by removing those and placing full focus on the T&A virgin wish-fulfillment, Senran Kagura Reflexions is just a lifeless alternative to an afternoon with your Chrome Incognito tabs.

Aside from all of that, what Reflexions is really missing is the charm that’s present in most Senran Kagura games. The crazy characters and their interactions, along with the over-the-top sexual humor, is one of the major things that has kept me coming back to the franchise. That’s all missing here. Instead we get one character that’s incredibly out-of-touch with her franchise-established personality and gameplay that takes the weird sexual moments a bit too seriously.
