One small touch I did like was that classmates will wish you luck and welcome you back before and after missions. I'm fully aware that I'm not the target audience for this game, and story moments that I found bizarre or grating, others will love. That said, I found a lot to like in Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus' combat, and whilst I could never be comfortable playing it on the bus, I can certainly see myself coming back to it.
Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is somewhat hard to judge. Though the interactions with the original 10 characters are strong, the introductions of the 10 newcomers are fairly weak. With that said, once introductions are over, interaction becomes strong again. Not as strong as the later titles, but that stands to reason as series improve over time. If you’re a fan of other titles and simply did not own a vita, this game is worth picking up. If you’re new to the series and are willing to stomach the slower and less varied story offered here to better enjoy the later games, it’s worth picking up t...
I can’t help comparing this game to Megatagmension Blanc, as I mentioned earlier. They are both in the same genre and developed by the same company, so the comparison is apt. Shinovi Versus definitely has the upper hand in gameplay, with the characters being much more distinct from one another, even in such a large cast. However, Megatagmension has one major point over this game: it keeps a consistent tone. Sure, the game is mostly humorous nonsense, but it stays that way. Shinovi Versu...

That said, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying this Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus as a little bit of a guilty pleasure, devouring it of its value, and moving onto your next fix; just don’t expect anything more than that. Keep in mind it’s a port of a game that was designed for handhelds, and you won’t b...
To sum it all up, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is a fun and enjoyable game. Behind the ambitiously oversexualized fanservice is nice and solid gameplay. The combat is deep, but beginner friendly. It’s easy to learn and yet can still remain challenging, perfect for people looking for action games to sink several hours into. While the story isn’t all that amazing, players will get enamored with the game’s cute cast and their wacky antics. The multiple story missions and side missions give the game considerable play time, and the inclusion of local and online multiplayer add some even more repla...
