Compelling and strange, Slay the Princess is a unique, expertly-written visual novel.
Slay the Princess is a narrative experience like no other. The game sharply reacts to your actions, questions, and even thoughts. It will draw you in for hours as you read dialogues and attempt to piece together who lies and who tells the truth. You will find it quite difficult to put the game down once you've started. Everything in Slay the Princess is tied to how YOU see the game, and everyone w...
Slay the Princess is my first visual novel in my roughly thirty-five years as a gamer and I enjoyed every minute of it. With so many dialogue options to choose from, no two runs of the story are the same, and even when you get to the story's finale there are still a few different ways it can ultimately end. Slay the Princess is a beautiful narrative of pain, death, love, and transformation. It has so many choices and routes that it's impossible to see them all in one playthrough. Mostly lives up to the promises and hype built around the game. An all at once engaging, intriguing, funny, satisfying, and deep experience.
Slay The Princess might be one of the best visual novels I have ever experienced. It is also near perfect on the Steam Deck!

Slay the Princess is a must-play for fans of branching narratives. Choices have consequences, and how much horror you encounter falls to you. Along the way, enjoy the macabre visuals and audio. While the game can’t put a bow on every decision, replaying for extra routes proves a royal pleasure. Turn down the lights, cozy up with a nice cup of tea (may I suggest blood orange?), and decide whether o...
While there were a lot of great moments, Slay the Princess has trouble tying everything together. The art and audio treatments, however, are something not to be missed.
Slay the Princess is a straightforward choice-driven visual novel that slowly breaks at the seams revealing a rabbit hole of possibilities that prey on player anxieties and paranoia.
