An amazing entry in the Trails series that makes fantastic strides to the series in unconventional ways.
Even with the glaring issues, Trails in the Sky the 3rd is a charming videogame that has a lot of dedication and love put into it. The story of the game is certainly interesting for being an epilogue/spin-off. The visuals and gameplay are unique and different from other RPG games I have known so far. However, in my opinion, they make a further impact thanks to my distaste for games in the genre.The soundtrack is so fantastic I want a copy of it so I can listen to it on my phone. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd is a love letter for fans, a final send-off for some beloved characters and fitting conclusions to endearing storylines. The likeable characters kept me interested and never left me feeling as though the development team had gone to the same well too many times, despite some reused locations and bosses. If you are okay with a considerable shift in overall gameplay, exchanging actual exploration on world maps for doorways leading to more focused events, then Trails in the Sky the 3rd is going to be highly satisfying.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails In The Sky series is a well-established JRP that publisher Xseed brought to the West in 2011 for the PlayStation Portable. Incredibly well received, fans found themselves immersed in the huge expansive world with likeable characters as they yearned for more. While it took four years for us to see the localization of the Second Chapter, here we are less than two years later with the conclusion to a great trilogy, appropriately named Trails In The Sky the 3rd.
The final chapter in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series took a decade to release on North American PCs fully translated into English. Now it's time to find out if it was worth the wait.
