Exploring the sticky details of American marijuana.

At its core, Weedcraft Inc is a business/tycoon simulation game with a focus on the cannabis industry. As the first game to be commissioned by Devolver Digital, Vile Monarch came through with a unique take on the video game genre. Beneath the surface, Weedcraft Inc is a solid business/tycoon simulation game that attempts to blend some contemporary “management” mechanics with classic ones.

The business and economical side of Weedcraft Inc can be engaging; mostly, this is when mulling over all your strains. But the game’s attempts to be political often don’t land as intended – for example its coffee shop named “Covfefe” is merely eye roll-inducing. For those that eke fun out of balancing profits against supply and demand and don’t mind a bit of repetitive click-work, then Weedcraft Inc may well be engaging enough. But for everyone else, its divisive subject matter is mostly wasted on dull gameplay mechanics, so if you were hoping for an engaging and edgy management sim, you’re still better off looking elsewhere.

Weedcraft Inc. is an interesting tycoon game that focuses on the weed business. The premise may be controversial to some, but it offers an experience not typically known by people. The resource management can be challenging and fun, though the soundtrack may get annoying.

Weedcraft Inc doesn't do anything amazing, but it's your best bet if you want to grow and sell weed in a video game.
