Röki
An adventure game inspired by Scandinavian folklore, Röki is the first release from UK developers Polygon Treehouse. Fusing old-school point-and-click gameplay with a contemporary twist, Röki sets out to modernise the genre and tell a touching and fantastical story. Add a log to the fire, slip on your favourite booties,...
Step one: Mix 1/2 cup of “Mars Attacks!”, 1/4 cup of John Water’s “Cry-Baby” and a teaspoon of action-adventure game mechanics and weapons. Step two: Pop in the oven at 220 degrees for 15 years and viola! you’ll have created something that resembles the brilliance that is Destroy All Humans!...
The Rock of Ages franchise has always been kind of difficult to fit in a box. Combining elements of platformer, racing game, tower defense and bowling, the series has so far proven to be more than the sum of its parts. With Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, ACE...
It’s not very often that Melbournians are treated to a video game set in their own city. We’re used to settings all over the world, but I guess nobody thinks of Australia’s urban centres as a good backdrop to a story. So it stands to reason that the job fell...
Neon Abyss starts with Hades calling you “the enemy of my enemy” and asking you to kick the butt of an organisation called “The Titan Group” for taking his powers and killing your family. It’s hard not to get a bit excited about what’s to come. When the pixelated, mustached,...
When Ghost of Tsushima was first revealed and shown off back in 2017, it quickly shot up to the top of my most anticipated list of games. Promising a feudal Japan setting, open world exploration featuring a wandering samurai, intense combat and stunning visuals, it seemed like the perfect combination....
Halo 3
A deep space sky is laid out before me. Stars twinkle, almost blinding. AI Cortana’s voice welcomes me as I return on my journey. Available both as a standalone product and part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo 3 is finally on PC. It’s a good thirteen years...
An action-adventure RPG for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, SWORD ART ONLINE: Alicization Lycoris is the seventh release from Bandai Namco in the Sword Art Online series. Enter a world where fighters announce the name of their attack before they perform it, virtual avatars have souls, and nobody knows...
The F1 2020 season was curtailed due to COVID 19 earlier this year, so the worlds most popular motorsport series’ such as NASCAR and Formula 1 moved to televised online racing. While most eschewed their official games and went with premier racing sim iRacing, Formula 1 stuck to their guns...
Really, is there anything better in gaming than when you settle into a niche title that turns out to be absolute magic? Crosscode is an indie sci-fi RPG crowdfunded on Indiegogo a few years ago. It’s already been on Steam for some time. Admittedly, I hadn’t heard of it until it was...
I’ve been working alone on my farm for almost a year now, earning upwards of 2k just from sale of produce alone. Although the love of my life, Ran, still won’t even look at me, despite the fact that I drop by to give her fresh grapes every single morning....
