The Disney Afternoon Collection has finally arrived on Nintendo hardware…and it only took nine years since its 2017 debut! Thanks to publisher Atari, these si
This flashback collection hits right in the nostalgia, with good reason. The games have stood the test of time and come out victorious, with a few minor hiccups along the way. Capcom includes a great set of extras including Time Attack and Boss mode and music and art galleries for the enthusiast.
The Disney Afternoon Collection is a pretty solid compilation of six classic Disney NES games. The extras included are a nice touch, even if some of the gallery pictures are skewed more toward Ducktales. But the time trial and boss rush features are great for veterans to see how they stack up to the rest of the world, while the rewind feature is great for younger players. Plus you can play two rare NES games without shelling out hundreds of dollars for the original carts.
The Disney Afternoon Collection makes its way to Switch 2, with a physical edition that is exactly the kind of package collectors want.
Following the success of Mega Man Legacy Collection, Capcom put together yet another great collection of 6 NES gems. Here we have a bunch of 8-bit Disney games so get your homework done, tune in to channel 3, and let's check them out.
Alright, Emulation Nation, I get it, you play old games on your PC for free. You downloaded no$gba when you were in middle school and everyone started calling you a hacker. You love to talk smack about how Switch games look better on your Ayn Odin 3, and you constantly insult Nintendo’s online retro catalogue because of course you do. Everyone claims they’re down for game preservation, but I’d say 80% of you just don’t want to pay for games. I get it: finding those classic titles with...
The Disney Afternoon Collection is a compilation of eight games that feature beloved Disney TV characters from the '80s and '90s in fun-filled adventures.
It’s bewildering that this collection of games, birthed on Nintendo consoles, took nearly a decade to find its way back home on the Switch/Switch 2. Now that it’s here with an additional two SNES games (one of which is really good), this iteration of the Disney Afternoon Collection feels more rounded-out, expanding what genres are represented, and I applaud including more of Disney’s licensed back catalog. This is as workmanlike a collection can get without being a straight-up ROM dump, a la that Wii copy of Super Mario All-Stars on my shelf. That said, it’s been a pleasant trip dow…
All of these bright colours and familiar faces gave me such a jolt of nostalgia I could practically taste the sugar-coated cereal and Ring-Pops as I yearned for the days when controllers only had a d-pad and two face buttons. I now find that I’m left wanting a second compendium from the SNES/Mega Drive era, comprising similarly nostalgic gems like The Lion King, The Jungle Book and Aladdin. But to be left wanting more is never a bad thing, so long as you feel there’s value to what you paid for, and with this 6-game collection and its quality finish, there can be no doubt about that. So grab yo...
The Disney Afternoon Collection is a solid collection of classic games from the Disney Afternoon television block. The additions are great too from modern quality-of-life updates, galleries for the art and music, along with time attack and boss rush modes. Even if you don't like all the games like me, there is still a lot of good here even if you end up mainly playing DuckTales, like me.
All in all, The Disney Afternoon Collection is something I would recommend to those who either grew up with these games or just enjoys them in general. Since they are straight ports, if you didn't like them before, nothing in this collection is going to change your mind. I wish I could give it a higher score because of my love for Disney, and I probably would have if these games were fully remastered, but the fact of the matter is you are more than likely only going to be playing DuckTales and DuckTales 2.
The Disney Afternoon Collection finally arrives on Nintendo Switch & Switch 2, with additional games and more!
