Livelock is a seriously good game. The initial bombardment of options are a little off-putting at first but if you’re able to look past them and get to the meat of the game, you’re set to be pleasantly surprised. Like any game of its type, it may become a little bit repetitive for those who don’t have such an itchy trigger finger, but if you’re even mildly fond of top-down shooters, Livelock is one of the best download titles out there right now.

Graphically, King Oddball is nothing to write home about – it looks like a mobile game – but visuals aren’t what this game is about, so they are a minor concern. I do want to mention the music though, because while it seems nice at first, as the game goes on it becomes incredibly grating and almost made me want to knock off a mark. But in all honesty that would be really harsh, because King Oddball is an incredibly addictive, massively enjoyable and most of all remarkably fun title that at less than a fiver should be an instant purchase for all puzzle fans out there!

In conclusion what Fortified lacks in originality it certainly makes up for in style and execution. It’s definitely one of the best games I have played that’s been offered up on Microsoft’s download service. It offers a great deal of long term play that should satisfy people of all ages, and is a game that any Xbox One owner should be paying attention to – especially if you have always loved the whole idea of Plants Vs. Zombies but are fed up with being forced to team up with potty-mouthed 10 year olds!

To sum Lovely Planet up is difficult. It’s certainly an interesting experience, but I’m just not quite sure how much I enjoyed it. The cute Japanese-themed world is certainly a big departure from any other game out there on the Xbox One right now, and its originality is definitely a plus, but Lovely Planet is perhaps a little too abstract to stand out from the crowd. It’s clear that the developers were trying to do something very different with this game, but I’m not convinced they managed to pull it off.
