There’s the foundation for greatness here, with an incredibly cute art style, gorgeous world, and compelling characters I genuinely want to know more about, but Tales of the Shire just doesn’t deliver. If you’re looking for a super relaxing and cozy experience, you’ll have a fine time with this one, but don’t expect a game that’s going to stick with you.
PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY is a stellar remastered bundle that exceeded my expectations. While it’s not the type of game I’d typically gravitate toward, I now fully appreciate its unique appeal. It’s one of those games everyone should try just to experience its truly one-of-a-kind gameplay. I’m sure it’ll stick with me long after finishing, and I’ll probably be humming “pata, pata, pata, pon” forever.
There’s a strong anti-AI and pro-human creativity message embedded in the main storyline throughout, and this game is a glorious testament to exactly why real art is so important. It’s a heartfelt homage that celebrates creative expression.
I’m hopeful the roadmap updates may change my mind, but for now, I’m already hopping off my broom to set off on another adventure elsewhere.
I’m hopeful that the dev’s plans for future content might lure me back in, though. I do have a soft spot for the vibrant alien world and my overly clumsy Mech friend.
It’s probably for the best, though, because if Mother Gooseberry and her sinister duck puppet have anything to say about it, my dental hygiene will be top-notch in no time.
No matter how you choose to play, Minecraft Legends is a cinematic and engaging experience that can be equally enjoyed by avid Minecraft players or those looking to appreciate the iconic blocky world and its beloved characters for the first time.
