Since Scarlet Nexus I’ve been itching for another mature skewing, darker JRPG story to sink my teeth into. I’ve always been a fan of the Tales series and all signs pointed toward Tales of Arise hitting everything on my checklist. Older characters that align closer to my age demographic. A story that explores the grey areas of war, slavery, and revenge. All of this wrapped up in that familiar Tales packaging I’ve loved for the past twenty something plus years.
I’ve been riding an RPG high these past couple of months. After spending a lot of time running around a futuristic world with the Scarlet Nexus crew, tackling another story in which time plays such a huge factor set off my Spidey senses. PSLS offered me the Cris Tales review opportunity. Promos promised me a stylish adventure. Never one to turn down the chance to cover a game on my wish list, I weathered my way through thunderstorm-induced power outages to see Crisbell’s story play out.
Follow the Red Strings! Learn more about the bound fates of heroes Kasane and Yuito as they search for answers in Scarlet Nexus, a sci-fi JRPG from Bandai Namco. Our Scarlet Nexus review is written based on the Kasane Randall side of the story.
The Pedestrian was one of those small indie games PlayStation first introduced us to during an August 2020 State of Play broadcast. I am the moth attracted to the puzzler flame, so I was immediately on board from the second I witnessed the person icons problem solving their way through flat signage. So, does The Pedestrian deliver a solid performance on the PlayStation 5?
Atmospheric adventure games are some of the best ways to relax and destress at the end of a long day. Spirit of the North: Enhanced Edition for PlayStation 5 offers players the opportunity to sink into a comfortable chair and let the wonder of Iceland sweep them away.
I love Vanillaware games! True story: Odin Sphere Leifthrasir was the first Platinum trophy I unlocked on PS4. You couldn’t tear me away from that game; it was all I did for days on end until I cleared it. Everything about it was magic, from the beautiful design to the engaging combat and enticing story. Here I am, four years later and head over heels for the studio’s latest endeavor. A grand sci-fi tale filled with mechs and kaiju and that same wonderful art style wrapping it all together like the world’s most comfortable blanket.
Doraemon is a classic family manga and anime series. Debuting in 1969, it features a robotic cat from the future sent to the past in the hopes of improving the Nobi lineage’s trajectory. Armed with his fourth dimensional pocket of gadgetry, Doraemon and Nobita Nobi often find themselves having grand and interesting adventures. Most of the time these include his friends Sue, Big G, and Sneech (names used in the English translations). With dozens of movies and a video game heritage tracing back to Famicom, Doraemon Story of Seasons is the latest in a long line of media tie ins for fans to gobble up.
FAIRY TAIL, the highly anticipated JRPG based on the beloved manga adaptation from Gust, is finally here! After a short delay (thanks, COVID-19!) gamers can now follow channel their inner flame dragon and travel through Fiore with Natsu, Lucy, and the rest of the Fairy Tail crew.
PlayStation LifeStyle review: Birth powerful Daughters to slaughter enemies in Othercide, a turn-based strategy game with roguelike elements from French studio Lightbulb Crew.
Long-distance relationships are extremely difficult. Months—sometimes years—may pass before you have the chance to be with your partner, and what time you do get to spend together you pray isn’t interrupted. You text, call, or video chat as much as possible but that’s not enough to silence the nagging doubt and depression. A Fold Apart tackles the hardships brought on by long-term separation, using puzzles as the therapeutic medium.
