Path of Exile 2 launched into Early Access today and Mitch has been putting it through its paces ahead to today's launch. Here is our thoughts on the game as it enters early access, and whether it's worth dropping your hard earned money on going into the weekend.
Manor Lords launched into early access last week, and it's taken the internet by storm. But how does it stack up in its early stages, and is it worth your time? Here's our early access review.
After almost five years in Steam Early Access, Eleventh Hour Games is finally releasing Last Epoch to the masses on Wednesday, February 21st. As the newest action role-playing game (ARPG) on the block, Last Epoch has already been compared to genre giants like Diablo and Path of Exile. Does Last Epoch deserve to be mentioned in such a distinguished crowd? I’ve only spent a handful of hours with Last Epoch, but I can already definitively say, eh, maybe.
It has been a month since Dark Point Games took action RPG Achilles: Legends Untold out of Steam Early Access and into full release. Dark Point Games claims that you should “Prepare for a legendary action RPG with intense souls-like combat.” Like most souls-likes, you will find a health, stamina, and fury bar in Achilles: Legends Untold, but the similarities stop there. With unbalanced combat and limited loot mechanics, Achilles: Legends Untold is more ho-hum than legendary.
Elyon, the MMORPG formerly known as Ascent: Infinite Realm, has been out in the West for a month now, and although there isn’t a real level cap, I’ve finally found my way to what can be considered the end game. As I mentioned in my review in progress, the first 30 or 40 levels are more of a tutorial than anything else. After hitting level 40, things have really started to open up. If I had to sum up my experience thus far, I would say that there are many things to like about Elyon. Innov...
With Pathfinder: Kingmaker, developer Owlcat Games gave us our first taste of a cRPG based on the Pathfinder role-playing system. The isometric RPG was a huge hit even before it launched, with over 18,000 backers pledging almost one million dollars on the Kickstarter project. With their standalone follow-up, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Owlcat Games isn’t taking the easy path by continuing the original story of Kingmaker. Instead, Path of the Righteous has a new setting, multiple new...
The Alien franchise is full of hits and misses. The first two movies of the franchise? Hits. The third? Miss. The prequels and sequels since then have also been a mixed bag. And the video games based on the franchise follow suit. Aliens: Colonial Marines was some hot garbage, but that was followed up by Alien: Isolation which is considered one of the best games in the franchise
Last week Mitch gave an overview of Godfall and his thoughts thus far. Now he's ready to pass his final verdict of the PS5/EGS title that ushers in next-gen.
"I'm Moze. I kill people for loot. And fun." After a short pause and in a more subdued tone Moze continues, "And justice and stuff." More than anything else I could come up with on my own, that line from Moze (my badass mech driving, grenade throwing favorite character) describes why I have enjoyed playing Borderlands 3. And just like the quote above, we have to acknowledge that there is more to Borderlands 3 than just looting and shooting even if it's not the primary reason we are here.
In its first week of release, the medieval first-person combat game Mordhau sold over 500,000 copies, and over the weekend it peaked at 60,000 concurrent players on Steam. Many games never reach those types of milestones at any point during their lifetime, and this feat is even more astonishing when you consider that success has come to the freshman title of small indie developer Triternion.
