Planet of Lana
9.0

Planet Of Lana is a truly cinematic puzzle adventure as advertised.  The package as a whole is delivered perfectly and leaves you wanting more upon completion.  With out-of-this-world visuals, music, sound and puzzle variety this really is an ‘Off-Earth Odyssey’ that you cannot afford to miss.  Developers Wishfully just delivered an indie masterpiece.

Deliver Us Mars

5.0

Rounding things off I think it is fair to say that Deliver Us Mars is a frustrating experience and somewhat of a let-down compared to Deliver Us The Moon.  While the environmental art style, musical score, platforming and accessibility settings are of a high standard, far too many aspects of the game are poor.  This becomes even worse when you consider that this is the glitchiest game I have ever played on my Xbox Series X.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!
9.0

What more can I say?  Like A Dragon: Ishin! deserves its acclaimed reputation and can only have been improved by this modernising makeover.  The story, visuals, sound design, and game mechanics are all top-class.  Complexity is the name of the game as usual, but fans of the series will have no complaints about what has been delivered here.  Everything that gamers love about the series has been included and improved upon to freshen things up.  Even the use of familiar faces feels right when it could have seemed very wrong.  For fans and newcomers alike, this game is a triumph and needs to be experienced.  PLAY THIS GAME.

7.0

Rounding things off, The Pathless has a nice visual design and cleverly designed puzzles to solve.  The movement mechanic is different but may not be to everyone’s taste and could even be off-putting for some.  My main issue is that once gameplay has been established in the first and second sections it is pretty much repeated for the remainder of the game.  I am sure that there are people out there (completionists especially) who will love this game as it is, but I cannot help but feel that a bit more inventiveness and a less cliché story would have made it much better.

In conclusion, without a doubt, this is the best Dark Anthology game so far and a true climax to season one.  Not only fans of the series but fans of the genre will love playing this.  The acting, visual detail, sound design and writing could not be bettered here.  Series mechanics have not only been improved but also extended delivering an extra level of depth to a fantastic experience.  In short developer, Supermassive Games has delivered a horror classic that will keep players on the edge of their seats for hours.

This game is such a tribute to a beloved genre that it even contains rules that will help you to survive (if you bother to learn them.)  It may not be the cheapest but it sure is an experience to enjoy.  Having Jason’s ‘kill, kill, kill’ motif echoing around your head as you play it is not a prerequisite but it sure is fun.

Sniper Elite 5
8

There is added depth and complexity to this title that elevates the experience above the solid game that went before it.  Too many series continuations just recycle the same old tropes but in this instance, I can gladly state that this is not the case at all.  If you are a fan of Sniper Elite 4 you will certainly enjoy playing this game.  Available to play from day one via Xbox Game Pass, this is not (in my opinion) an experience that you can afford to miss.

Upon game completion I had enjoyed the experience and have no major complaints about it.  This is in my opinion one of the better entries in the Life Is Strange series.  The game performed well on my Series X, the artwork, music and voice acting is of the usual high calibre and fans of the universe will find this entry as enjoyable to play as any of the others that have gone before it.

Another thing that keeps gameplay fresh is the sheer number of mini-games hidden within it.  Table Hockey, Connect Four, Penalties, Cups and Balls, a police informers variation of Guess Who? and many other well-designed distractions can all be played within the story of Road 96.  Playing the trombone for Zoe was fun, as were the not easy to describe ‘dance party’ limo shenanigans with Sonya.

Summing things up, If going on a surreal ‘road to nowhere’ journey is your thing, Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition may well be right up your street.  If you want to play games that respect your gaming time this is probably not for you.  This game has a lot going for it but at the same time contains many things that diminish its playability.  Being available on Game Pass does, however, make playing it more of a tempting proposition than actually having to pay for it.
