Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones doesn’t change much, which isn’t a bad thing considering how good the main game is. It makes small improvements while keeping the same formula, while telling a meaningful story set in a new land as beautiful as ever. Anyone who enjoyed Origins is bound to enjoy The Hidden Ones.

The Hidden Ones is just more Assassin's Creed Origins. Considering how good the base game was, that's not a bad thing. It also helps that there's actually a substantial amount of content here.

A lot of what The Hidden Ones gets right is its ability to take familiar concepts from Assassin’s Creed Origins and make them feel new again by means of a new purpose, a new story, and a new creed. A new direction to the story that makes Bayek more relatable, high-level combat keeps quests challenging even when you’re fully leveled up, and a more rewarding pace of loot provide an opportunity to feel something new without straying too far from what I loved about Origins in the first place.

The Hidden Ones is a story-driven expansion to Assassin's Creed Origins, a game that seriously surprised us with how good it actually was when it launched last year. Origins' recreation of Egypt is so well crafted and gorgeous that we've struggled to stay away from the open world title, coming back to it each day in order to complete its daily missions. If you're anything like us, then you're going to enjoy The Hidden Ones.

The Hidden Ones add-on breaks down what was built in the great Assassin's Creed: Origins. Although the expansion offers a pretty good price-to-hours of gameplay ratio, it is not an adventure you will remember for a long time.
