Brain vs Brain is a very welcome return to a long-forgotten series. While it doesn’t offer anything quite so new besides new mini games and a strong multiplayer mode, it’s absolutely difficult to put down and full of challenging fun.
Big Brain Academy: Brain Vs Brain is a great pick up and play title. I found myself becoming addicted to trying to do better each time I sat down. The new addition of multiplayer is very welcome. Allowing each user to select the starting difficulty made this a fun game to play with my very non-competitive wife. If mind games are something you enjoy, or if you've played a Brain Academy or Brain Age...
Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a fun way to exercise your brain regularly. The competition aspect keeps the game fun and engaging if the single player isn’t up to snuff.
Nintendo owns tons of different IPs, so it’s pretty obvious that a lot of them end up becoming dormant for a long time before getting a brand new iteration in their catalogue. That has been seen in Metroid, for instance. Plus we’re still waiting for the (unlikely) revival of certain franchsies, such as F-Zero, Earthbound, and a Star Fox that doesn’t suck. After 14 years, Big Brain Academy is back with an all-new Switch game that'll test your smarts and measure them against your friends'.

His solution was the Brain Training series for Nintendo DS which popularised the concept of testing one’s brain daily to keep neurons firing freshly. The original title sparked a wave of micro-puzzlers, including 2006’s Big Brain Academy which wrapped its braintease...
A fun pick up and play experience that is unfortunately held back by its inability to truly innovate on its predecessors and take advantage of the Switch's hardware.
“Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain is a shockingly addictive collection of brain teasers, but a slim package makes it a hard sell.”
Overall, Brain vs Brain feels like a warmed-up mobile IQ test, and even with its atypical presentation from the Japanese developer, it’s tough to justify the £30 asking fee. The fact that it works infinitely better with touchscreen controls also makes you wonder why they didn’t just go down the app store route.
