Two amazing first person shooters with all their DLC and polished visuals. Even with its few technical snafus and large update, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is pure unadulterated fun.

Providing gamers with two very fun and lengthy games within Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, there is no doubt that this is the ultimate Borderlands experience for everyone.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is the victory lap that every Borderlands fan will enjoy, and packs a tremendous value into one disc. Some performance issues hold it back from being flawless, but all the ingredients are here to sate your chaotic sweettooth.

Borderlands 2 is the epitome of the Ubisoft second game getting it right rule. The first Borderlands was a fun game with some fun new systems, but had just as many issues. Story, pacing, variety, basically everything outside of the absolute core mechanics were subpar at best. Even those could have use a bit of refining. Minor quibbles aside, The Handsome Collection is a great package for any console-bound Borderlands fan. The fact that it collects every piece of DLC for both games, the majority of which is of very high quality, plus the fact that you can carry your last-gen saves and characters over, makes it a good pickup for returning fans and a great pickup for new ones. If you're new to the series or looking to jump in, you could well be playing this until Gearbox release Borderlands 3.

Some unfortunate technical problems distract from what is otherwise a very generous compilation, and an entirely legitimate alternative to Destiny.

It's just hard not to recommend Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. There's so much content. It received a proper current-gen graphical upgrade and there is tons of both DLC and normal content included. I have a few problems with The Pre-Sequel, but that's it.

The integrity of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is cheapened due to the constant presence of performance issues. Other than that, though, this is the same Borderlands you know and love – or don't. We're still recommending The Handsome Collection because, despite its blemishes and the general shortcomings of the Borderlands formula, it's often an absolute riot of a time – playing with friends, whether local or online, is the way to go. Let's just hope we get a patch that eliminates the screen tearing, frame-rate drops, and texture pop-in that permeates the package. Then this will truly be...

Truly, the main selling point for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will be Borderlands 2 and all its DLC. Those who were looking forward to a current-gen port will find that the game is well represented on the new platforms, and has no major flaws to speak of. Also, any who missed out on the DLC the first time around are encouraged to check that out, especially Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. Borderlands 2 is the real reason to pick up Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and The Pre-Sequel is an added bonus that fans can take or leave as they please.
