Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
With its incessant jiggly boobs, drab story, naughty baby-making imagery, and harem tropes-a-plenty, I’d get why some would steer clear of Conception II. But I’m here to recommend it. The dating side is just interesting enough to keep you roped in, and the battle system grows on you after a bit of time to be something pretty rewarding. When I got into it, I couldn’t put this game down. Outside the music and presentation, it’s not outstanding in any way, but the mix of dungeon crawling and dating sim worked for me.
Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars is one of the strangest games that you’ll ever play. Its premise – which, in essence, revolves around mating – provides an odd starting point, but get past this and you’ll find a surprisingly enjoyable excursion that’s only really let down by repetition and some unnecessarily sexual content.
With a handful of interesting chances taken with the combat and core mechanics of Classmating, it is a shame that the combat itself becomes a grind. The systems all interact with one another nicely and help to create a fun JRPG experience, though the title should give away that for those offended by cheesy dialogue laced with sexual innuendoes and references, they might not appreciate this game’s narrative as much as others. All that said, the whole is certainly better than its parts when it all comes together, making Conception II a worthwhile adventure for JRPG fans.

Struggling to find good party members? Why not create your own? At least you won't be waiting years for these progeny to be ready.
It’s no small wonder why the first Conception title didn’t go abroad if it is as rife with Japanese tropes as this one is, including, but not limited to, transformation sequences, teacher-student relationships and the token big breasted girl whose boobs jiggle when she so much as breathes. Conception II starts with an interesting story, an engaging turn-based combat system and Star Children (enough said), but is often bogged down by its awkward dialogue and dull characters. If you can find it in your heart to forgive and forget some of these things, there is an RPG under it all worth playi…
