Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
I’d love to go into even more detail about Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View‘s narrative and discuss in depth everything that makes it so brilliantly crafted, but to do so would be to ruin your experience. The joy of playing this wonderful little detective noir is to experience the drip-feed of suspense first hand; it’s to find the little clues yourself and come to your own conclusions – and in the process, be made to doubt everything you believe. Because in a street where everyone has something to hide, who can you trust?
Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View Falls Short Of Its Inspiration, With Poor Mechanics, Annoying Characters and Atrocious Detective Work
A classic locked-room mystery set in a sleepy post-war community. Crack the case, and your neighbour's privacy, through a series of engaging investigations.
Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View is an enjoyable adventure game. It may not innovate and its controls need work, but it’s a high-quality interactive mystery that I’d recommend to fans of the genre. The game is out now for $29.99 on PC with a release on all consoles planned for early 2022.
Conway is a solid detective game that ticks a lot of the right boxes and fulfils standard sleuthing expectations. It leans well into the crotchety-old-protagonist stereotype which more often than not creates an interesting tension between Conway and his ensemble cast of neighbors, as well as with you as a player. It’s not tremendously challenging in terms of hard solves, but it’s more about the journey. You could do worse than spend 10 hours immersed in the small and all too human miseries of Dahlia View.
Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View has some worthwhile secrets to uncover but cases them in an unremarkable mystery.
