Twelve years. Twelve long years of waiting and fans are finally playing Diablo III, and, if my recent marathon sessions are any indication, they will be for the foreseeable future. So many systems from previous Diablo titles have been improved, making for an approachable, rewarding and deeply satisfying treasure hunting game. It's addictive on a level few games can match, so much so that it's easy to largely overlook its flaws. It’s a shame that the story felt like it was in the background and didn’t quite live up to the epic tale I expected. But where it stumbled, its great characters would lift it and keep me engaged. The core of Diablo, that power-chasing, primal gameplay focus, is intact and fantastic, and I can’t wait to jump back in to do it all over again.

Diablo 4 may not be perfect, but it remains a rock-solid dungeon crawler with a lot of promise for the future.
All in all, the game doesn’t offer that much eye candy and it doesn’t necessarily send you to another plane of existence with its soundtrack. However, it does have what most games lack, the ability to give players an entirely different experience if they choose to give the game another run, which in my opinion, makes it worth anyone’s time.
