Hinomoto just got a lot more chaotic with the arrival of Disgaea 7 Complete. With a significant upgrade to performance and all DLC packed in, Nippon Ichi Software's latest entry in the tactical RPG series feels right at home on the Nintendo Switch 2.
One of the best SRPGs in recent years has a new iteration for Switch 2 and Disgaea 7 Complete is jam-packed with hilarity and content.
Disgaea 7 Complete is probably the best Disgaea game yet, and on the Nintendo Switch 2 it looks beautiful and runs smoother than ever.
Disgaea 7 Complete is a jam-packed version of Disgaea 7 with all previously released DLC, new story content, new features, and gameplay tweaks that make it the definitive edition of the strategy RPG. Although Disgaea 7 Complete doesn't revamp the game in a major way, it offers a lot of fun and engaging content with a easy pick-up-and-play combat system that will make the hours fly by before you know it. There are dozens of hours to be spent in Disgaea 7 Complete, all of which looks crisp and ...
While Disgaea 4 is in many ways more of the same from the tactics franchise, its unique story, premise, characters and wonderful variety make it extremely fun to put hours upon hours into. Disgaea 4 is a long title that offers a lot to do both during and after the story to keep players coming back for a bigger and better challenge. There are those who want to finish the story and find new challenges and others who want to get all their characters to level 9999 to feel like the ultimate champion. There's no real wrong way to play Disgaea and there's endless fun to be had in Hell with its lovable cast of characters. Disgaea 4 Complete+ is yet another wonderful addition from the franchise brought to modern consoles, and fans of the series or tactics titles should not miss out on it.
One knows what to expect from a Disgaea game, the flagship title from NIS America as a whole; an adorable and instantly recognizable art style, gameplay akin to what Final Fantasy Tactics used to provide two decades ago, a good soundtrack, a mixture of innocent and mischievous humor, and a ton of penguins uttering the word “dood”. Disgaea 5 Complete for PC is no different, as this is game is (supposedly) the most featured-filled version of the fifth chapter of the franchise previously rel...
Disgaea Switches to Nintendo's New Console
From an audio standpoint, Disgaea 5 succeeds with flying colors. A great number of the game’s tracks are memorable enough to almost instantly mine their way into your mind. The songs have an odd composition to them that fit the weird world of Disgaea, as they emit a feeling that mixes the supernatural with pure wackiness. The voice acting is even better than the music, with more serious lines and joke delivery alike standing out. Each voice is perfect for its character, which is easier said than done with a cast as ridiculous as Disgaea 5‘s.
Disgaea 5 Complete is a complex strategy RPG that will test your brain to its limits. Despite its difficult learning curve, the game holds tight battle mechanics, endless combinations for fighting, and a colorful cast of characters that make it worth a purchase for newcomers and fans of the series alike. Grab your explosive penguins and get ready for a crazy adventure.
Disgaea 5 Complete is a tough game to judge. On the positive side it offers an extraordinary volume of content, its own quirky approach to storytelling and a complex set of systems that complement each other well. Unlike some other major strategy RPG IPs, however, it struggles to present its complexity in a cohesive way, with a user interface that groans under the weight of its goals. Fans of the game and series likely adore this hardcore approach, but some more familiar with strategy games that are more focused and precise in their execution may find it hard to fall in love with all of those layers of detail. There are so many terrific parts to the game, but they get somewhat jumbled together. For Disgaea fans this game is worth a purchase, especially as it includes all DLC from the original and plays beautifully on the go. For strategy RPG fans we still give it a hearty recommendation, but with the proviso that it's more demanding and tougher to master than many of its genre contemporaries. If you're up for the challenge and time investment, and can tolerate its zany characters and settings, then it's well worth adding to your Nintendo Switch collection.
The least funny Disgaea, but arguably the best in terms of the actual gameplay – and it’s a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch.
There are only a few RPGs on the Switch so far, but Disgaea 5 is nothing short of one of the best. If you’re at all a fan of JRPGs or tactics games, this is a must buy. Even if you had it on the PS4, its inclusion on the Switch and portable greatness make it one of the system’s must owns early in its life.
It's the definitive version of one of the best Disgaea games that can now be played on the fly. A win-win Switchuation.
Your Trusty and Old Faithful Disgaea
Disgaea 5 Complete is an awesome addition to the Nintendo Switch line-up of games. Taking this time-intensive tactical RPG on the go with me was an enjoyably experience; I am not always at home and willing to spend 80 hours on my couch playing a game. The game's premise feels like a soap opera at times, but it adds to the enjoyment when acted out by these silly characters. My only word of advice is to bring your Switch charger with you, because you're going to need it.
Disgaea 5 Complete is a faithful return to the PlayStation 4 original, letting you play Disgaea 5 on the go.
