Escape from Ever After is the Paper Mario style game I've been waiting for since the GameCube, with a seriously charming fairytale setting.
Escape from Ever After was quite the surprise to me. While going in with the perspective that this Paper Mario-inspired game might scratch an itch Nintendo themselves seem happy to leave squarely as an age old storybook tale many look fondly upon, the team at Sleepy Castle Studio is ready to pen a new fable for the ages. I've been playing one of the best indie RPGs and I'm sure you'll love Escape from Ever After, too, so let's talk about it! There's fun to be had.
Obviously, any fans of the Paper Mario series will be right at home here. The mechanics and the art style are both familiar enough to draw you in, but it’s the original touches that keep you engaged. We have gotten a few over the years, with Bug Fables being my favourite one so far. Now, it’s time to say “hello” to Escape From Ever After, a Paper Mario style RPG in every aspect of the statement. Fun partners that join you in each chapter? Check. Paper aesthetics and characters? Check. Turn...
