FEAR 2 is not only a vast improvement over its predecessor; it’s an enormously superior first-person shooter, full-stop. Monolith have refined all of the elements that made FEAR such a great game to begin with, learning from their mistakes and building upon the formula to create the finest horror FPS we’ve ever played.

Do you remember 2005? I sure do. It was back then when a game called F.E.A.R. was released, a game which also got two expansion packs in the following years & which is, to my mind, one of the best first person shooter games that have ever been created. I think it’s safe to say that Monolith are the kings of first person horror games and have been for quite some time actually. This bold statement is pretty much reliant on two of their premiere franchises; Condemned and FEAR. Rather randomly, Condemned’s sequel last year went off on a bit of a weird tangent into the realms of David Lynch’s style of thinking, so the question remains, what fate was left in store for FEAR 2: Project Origin?
