inFAMOUS: Second Son has been on my radar since E3 last year. A big reveal to go alongside the announcement of the PS4, I was certainly interested but not nearly as interested as I should have been. If it hadn’t been for review duties I would have faithfully checked the scores upon release and debated whether to get it right away or wait for a price drop. As much as it pains me to admit it I could...

Second Son is by far the best inFamous yet. If you’re a fan of the series, then checking this one out is a no-brainer, and if you’re not, consider jumping in with Delsin. You don’t need any prior knowledge of the franchise to do so, and if you have any appreciation of open-world superhero games, you’ll enjoy it.

“Infamous: Second Son builds on the best of the previous games in the series, even while mired in repetition.”

It’s also only running at 30 frames per second. This really isn’t an issue for Second Son, as the sense of speed is still captured well and the effects still look excellent. There’s also an impressive array of sounds for all of Delsin’s powers, with tone-setting music employed to make battles feel even more incredible. Voice acting fits in perfectly with the almost photo-realistic facial animation...

Open-world superhero action games are about freedom and empowerment, and in these regards, Second Son is really impressive. Seattle is a big, beautiful playground for you to stomp around in with a set of devilishly fun and powerful toys at your disposal. It plays great, and it looks even better, but its advancements also beg it to be held to a higher standard, one that its overall story and morali...

Second Son is a worthy entry in the inFamous Series. More importantly, Sucker Punch now have an interesting protagonist in Delsin Rowe.

inFAMOUS: Second Son is essentially the best X-Men game that isn't an X-Men game and owners of superhero properties need to take a serious look at what Sucker Punch delivers with their PlayStation 4 debut title. Second Son may not offer much newness in terms of gameplay, story or progression, but polishes what we've come to enjoy from the series to date, bringing players a beautiful and fun game e...

In more than one way, inFAMOUS Second Son is just missing that spark. There's fun to be had here, but even when it's at its best something feels missing.

As pretty and playable as it is, in no sense is inFamous: Second Son a post-Grand Theft Auto 5 open-world game. It's just a tidier, shorter and shinier one. It's easy to enjoy and has a winning personality, but it's reluctant to deviate from a stale streetmap of game city. It's no rebel, then. In fact, it's a conformist.

Second Son rations the good stuff, giving too little too late.
