Jet Car Stunts is an amazing iPhone racer that you should absolutely buy if you grew up on and enjoyed games like San Francisco Rush. It's got heavy car physics, excellent controls, a great drift mechanic, crazy track designs and lots of opportunity for huge, satisfying hang time. The lack of a multiplayer mode is unfortunate, but the single-player affair will keep you busy for days, if not weeks. And besides, it's only $1.99 for the experience, which is an incredible bargain.
Jet Car Stunts’ arrival on the PlayStation 3 and Vita marks the popular mobile game’s first foray onto consoles. Historically, adapted smartphone titles end up feeling a little, well, off when they’re converted to consoles – but there are exceptions. The big question, then, is whether Grip Games has managed to make True Axis’ sky high racer feel at home on Sony’s systems. The answer is almost.
Jet Car Stunts is the kind of game that appears simple on the outside, but smacks you in the face with its sheer difficulty. I enjoyed it, and I may have even earned back some of the skills I had when I was a lad. When I finally get a gold medal, and feel a sense of triumph, I think it will be time to dust off the old Commodore 64 and relive the olden days again. Jet Car Stunts is not for the faint of heart, but it’s a solid title that does exactly what it sets out to do.
Feel the rush of adrenaline on 36 tracks with lots of challenges, huge jumps and moving platforms and spirals.
That’s not to say Jet Car Stunts is not a fun game to pick up and play and if you’re interested in chasing high-scores and persevering through extremely challenging courses there’s a bountiful package on offer here for you. Unfortunately the fussy physics, camera problems and controls that are difficult to entirely master will halt the progress of all but a persistent few.
