Mirage: Arcane Warfare Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Two things are dragging Mirage: Arcane Warfare from being a full, easy recommendation: its lack of explaining advanced techniques in game as opposed to an, otherwise informative, Steam guide (this being the lesser of the two) and the small number of players. As it is a multiplayer-only title, the community will make it or break it. Getting an influx of players to come in would also lead to potentially solving learning curve troubles as community videos may pop up. Otherwise, while having some flaws, the game oozes quality through its top notch visuals, tight, quick and varied combat system, go...
Perpetually looking for group in the otherwise admirable magic brawler.
It is sad to say that this game will probably never reach the levels of popularity of both its predecessor and modern genre counterparts because the player count is at a currently super low despite the fact the it only recently launched. I encourage people interested in the game to pick it up, as Mirage: Arcane Warfare is really fun and would benefit from having many more players. Just be aware that if the game's community doesn't grow soon, its severs could be barren by the end of the year, if not in the next few months.
Mirage: Arcane Warfare is looking to mix things and break away from the visceral realistic combat of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare with its unusual fusion of melee and magic which results in truly chaotic battlefield moments.
Despite Torn Banner Studios creating a competent and sometimes enjoyable game, for its current price it's hard to recommend. Chivalry is cheaper and is frequently seen with heavy discounts and in bundles, and is a far better experience than Mirage in its current state. Perhaps a few months down the line, when Mirage has been updated a few times and has a larger player base after being discounted, it could be worth it, but right now, even though it's four years old, Chivalry can provide you with everything Mirage offers and more.
