Monster Hunter Stories is a charming and adorable monster-catching experience. Become engrossed with its characters, hatch some Monsties and have a blast in the humorous world and its weirdly addictive gameplay. Definite recommend!

Although clichéd and in need of some sharpening, Monster Hunter Stories 2 offers a fun and lighthearted take on the world of Monster Hunter. At the same time, it improves on the Pokémon formula and is much more than just another clone.

Aside from disappointing battery life and no 16:10 Aspect Ratio support, Monster Hunter Stories is flawless on the Steam Deck, and I would highly recommend it.

Monster Hunter Stories pays homage to the best in the franchise and keeps its spirit in its various mechanics. Because it's a turn-based RPG, it features a grand story and strategic combat. With plenty of monsters to collect and raise and lots of crafting and gathering. Monster Hunter Stories provides everything you need in an RPG.

If it weren’t for the prevalence of strange control issues, Monster Hunter Stories on PC would be an easy recommendation for fans of Pokémon or other creature-based RPGs. Without those issues, it is a charming and smart RPG with some fun, unique ideas and smart design.

Monster Hunter Stories is that rare and magical opportunity to befriend your favorite monster and ride it into battle.

I wasn’t super impressed by Monster Hunter Stories but I don’t think the developers intended for it to be a game-changer. It’s an above-average RPG infused with some of the cuteness of the Monster Hunter universe, with portability to boot.
