Milestone’s latest entry leans into small physics and career tweaks without changing the core formula.

Even for those who aren't rabid MotoGP fans, there's a serene intensity to finally settling in while playing MotoGP 24. Every frustrating wipeout feels worth it once you're zooming around a curve without ever feeling the controller budge. If you've been waiting a few years to upgrade from a past edition, MotoGP 24 is the perfect time to leap forward. Despite a few areas that still need improvement, it's hard not to call MotoGP 24 one of the best motorcycle racing games in years.

MotoGP is actually a new interest of mine, after a few years following F1 I was a bit hesitant on the cost of ever going to a race, and so I started following these lunatics going obscenely fast on motorcycles. I figured with the new game, MotoGP 24 coming, now was a great time to really get immersed into this world. For anyone that has never played one of these games, it is incredibly immersive. Milestone settles into a cosy groove with MotoGP 24, building upon the work it's accomplished on the series in recent years, delivering another dose of realistic sim racing. Not short on depth and detail, MotoGP 24 is also a welcoming racing game that caters to players of all skill levels. Lovely stuff.

MotoGP 26 lands squarely in the middle of the pack, offering strong visuals and solid racing mechanics on Xbox Series X, but held back by familiar modes and a lack of real innovation. It’s an enjoyable and reliable entry for fans, yet it never quite pushes beyond what the series has already achieved, making it a good but not essential instalment.

MotoGP 26 continues on the legacy of this series being the best racing sim on two wheels, and yet it's also more approachable than ever with its refined and tweaked "Arcade" options as well as a shift in focus to a rider-based handling system. The racing itself is thrilling, straightforward enough, and has a high skill-ceiling that feels rewarding to work towards. An overall presentation package that isn't quite as good as some contemporaries is really the only "blemish" on another exciting and slick MotoGP experience. Oh, and the bikes look awesome in Photo Mode.
