Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is the most quintessential Naruto game to date, with improvements all around the sphere. While not the most complicated fighter to pick up, there is some considerable depth to be found for those who seek to maximize their potential. Like previous iterations, UNSG remains to be a game for fans, and is not a good starting point for those who are interested in learning more about the lore of the Naruto universe. If you’re a fan of Naruto, there’s absolutely no reason not to pick this up.
Fans of Naruto are no doubt going to pick up Generations, but what's more important is that showing this game to non-Naruto fans will make them understand what makes this franchise so beloved. Hidden below the crazy, numerous battles are some very moving stories about kids trying to find their way in the world - and how their elders struggle to raise and protect them. The heart of the Naruto franchise is stunningly sincere - and somehow this game finds those points and shines a spotlight on them. I have to preface this review to let you know that I am not a diehard Naruto fan. It is not because I don’t like it, it’s just that there is so much to see in the Naruto universe that for me to really get a good foothold on the whole world I am already way behind the times. Now that I have a few moments, I thought I would share my thoughts with you.
The complaints are minor in Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations making this one of the best versions of the fighter. The pick up and play 3D fighter is easy to learn, hard to master, and beautiful throughout.
The bottom line remains that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations caters to fans first and foremost. At least it doesn’t cut corners and goes above and beyond in this service and that might appeal to people outside of its immediate target audience. Still, players wanting to take part in the extensive content will have to take in account its simple button mashing element with grace if they wish to stay entertained.
Warning: this game contains a rapping ninja, which some gamers may find annoying. Once you get past that though, you can expect the usual Naruto action consisting of over-the-top battles, crazy theatrics and a roster of fighters more bizarre than ever. Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations brings together the youthful Naruto characters of yesteryear and the (slightly) more mature versions that make up the Shippuden storyline, in a colossal brawl to end them all. Can the series trademark charisma a...
