A brilliant and visually incredible ride that proves itself worthy of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the titans of the sci-fi racer world.
34BigThings tries to revive the sci-fi racing genre with something that could compete with the likes of F-Zero or Wipeout. Redout could easily be confused with aforementioned classics with its light-speed gameplay and pulse-pounding soundtrack.
I really love Redout. While it feels lacking in the multiplayer department, its extensive career mode more than makes up for it with its addictive, bite-sized races. The first time I played the game, I had to make a serious effort to stop; beating one event just made me want to try the next one, and with so many tracks and cars to unlock, things never got stale. It made me laugh, scream, and shout...
If you liked Wipeout or F-Zero, you’re going to be right at home with Redout. Fast, sleek, pretty, and has just about the right amount of challenge. If you can overlook the rubber banding issue and desktop resolution configuration, Redout, is your best bet if you’re in the market for a racing title that you can pass the time with.

Because of that, the high learning curve may be off-putting for some, but that shouldn’t be a detriment for those who think that they can take the heat. I wouldn’t blame you for thinking that it’s a AAA title at first glance, but this indie title really i...
In addition to that, unless you want to keep trying for your best score in each track offline, you’re not going to want to come back to the game -- not many people are playing online. While the game is most certainly fun and unique, I cannot recommend the game for $40 to most people. If you’re a racing fan, and you’re getting bored with the genre, then this offers something new and fresh, but beyo...
An anti-gravity racer rebirth, Redout inherits the genre’s flawed genes.
