While Unlimited's focus may have moved toward usability, it's still a great game. It doesn’t bring wild and crazy innovation, but progress the series nonetheless. By streamlining its process, Unlimited gives players even better ways to lose themselves in a playground of their own creation.

Sadly, the repetitive nature of Scribblenauts Unlimited sets in far too quickly. The game boils down to getting Starites to unlock more areas…to get even more Starites to unlock even more areas. This grind isn’t too much a problem, but its single-minded endgame objective makes it more suitable for smaller play sessions.

Overall, Scribblenauts Unlimited is without a doubt the best installment in the series to date. With the ability to completely customize almost everything, there's almost no limit to what gamers will be able to create. A few of the missions can cause some frustration and bombing through the tasks will border on monotony, but these things are easily overlooked in the grand scale of things. Longtime fans and newcomers alike will instantly fall in love with the next level creativity available at their disposal, and the sandbox environments make the title's replay-ability seemingly unlimited.
