Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 5 - The Vault of the Traveler Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 5 is a fitting end to this series. The storytelling did change slightly over the span of five chapters, but it continually took forward steps. Telltale Games has outdone itself with this series, delivering their most consistent effort from one chapter to the next. The end result is the best overall series to date.
Tales from the Borderlands Episode 5: The Vault of the Traveler finishes off Rhys and Fiona’s journey in impeccable fashion. From heartbreak to hilarity, it runs the gamut of emotions in some really effective ways. All of the questions and mysteries from the previous four episodes pay off in wonderful fashion, while Episode 5 simultaneously introduces a slew of new, intriguing possibilities for the future of the world. I’m bummed to say goodbye to Telltale’s adventure on Pandora, but I'll be damned if it wasn’t one hell of a ride.
Telltale and 2k Games hit a home run with their conclusion to the Tales from the Borderlands series.
The final episode of Tales From The Borderlands is here, and along with it Telltale's last chance to transform the series' meandering and irrelevant narrative into a meaningful journey. The first three installments felt like an uninspired slog, but Episode 4 slowly won me over and laid a solid foundation for a satisfying conclusion. The Vault Of The Traveler delivers on its predecessor's promise with a steady pace and deft execution that hasn't always been present in the rest of the series.
Tales from the Borderlands Episode 5: The Vault of the Traveler concludes Rhys and Fiona’s journey in a blaze of glory. All the decisions made throughout this journey coming full circle here, with all the questions from previous episodes answered with a spectrum of emotional and hilarious scenes. The only downside is we’ll have to wait until Tetalle decides to revisit the world of Pandora.
